Pre-K at Grace Christian School in Telford, PA
The Pre-K program at Grace Christian School welcomes our youngest learners into a caring and loving community where curiosity, social development, and spiritual growth are encouraged. Families will find that Pre-K at GCS blends age-appropriate academics with a warm, Christ-centered environment that nurtures both the heart and mind.
Our Pre-K teachers understand that four-year-olds are eager explorers who learn by doing. The classroom is structured to support that developmental stage through stories, songs, movement, and hands-on learning. This approach helps children build foundational academic skills while strengthening fine and gross motor coordination and early literacy awareness. At the same time, they learn how to participate in group activities, share materials, follow routines, and make new friends. These are essential building blocks for Kindergarten and beyond.
“As a Pre-K teacher, I have the privilege of introducing a child to the GCS family. The friendships we make and the skills that we learn in Pre-K will have a lasting impact in student lives as they continue to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Pre-K students are naturally curious about the world around them and eager to learn new things. I enjoy seeing their faces light up as they learn and discover new concepts through stories, songs, play, and hands-on activities.” ~ Jami Mayse, Pre-K Teacher
Students in Pre-K participate in age-appropriate academic experiences that introduce early literacy and numeracy concepts in fun and engaging ways. They also take part in Library and Music special classes and attend select Chapel times where they learn biblical truths and worship songs. These gentle introductions to student life help young learners feel comfortable, confident, and excited for school.
As a Christian school, GCS places great value on helping children understand that they are created by God and deeply loved by Him. In Pre-K, we begin laying the foundation for spiritual formation through Bible stories, prayer, and character modeling from teachers. The goal is always to support the development of a secure identity in Christ.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
-Proverbs 22:6 NKJV
