Middle School at Grace Christian School
(Grades 6 - 8)
The middle school years are a pivotal season in a child’s life. At Grace Christian School, our middle school program is designed to guide students through this important transition with strong academics, intentional discipleship, and consistent encouragement. Serving students in 6th through 8th grade, GCS provides a safe, structured, and Christ-centered environment where students are challenged to grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
Parents value GCS for its balance of high academic expectations and genuine care for each student. During these formative years, our goal is not only to prepare students for high school but to help them develop confidence in who they are in Christ.
A Christ-Centered Approach to Learning in Montgomery County
Middle school students begin each day with devotions and prayer, grounding their learning in God’s Word from the very start. Bible instruction and weekly chapel services are a central part of school life, helping students think biblically about the world around them while strengthening their personal faith.
Academically, students are challenged to think critically, communicate clearly, and take ownership of their learning.
Courses emphasize strong writing skills, reading comprehension, scientific inquiry in science, foundational mathematics, historical understanding, and responsible use of technology. Students also benefit from structured study hall periods, allowing time for organization, assignment completion, and meeting with teachers as needed.
Leadership and service opportunities are intentionally woven into the middle school experience. Programs such as Elementary Missions allow students to mentor younger classmates, reinforcing academic skills while modeling Christlike service and responsibility.

Student Perspective
“I'm in 8th grade, and I've been at GCS since 1st grade. The teachers are so amazing and really supportive. Every morning, starting off with devotions and prayer, plus Chapel and Bible classes, really helps you grow in your faith. With Speech Meet and performances, we learned public speaking and how to be comfortable in front of people. We also do Elementary Missions, where we go to an elementary classroom to help them with math, computer, and reading. We're able to spend time with them and help them grow academically.” – Michala W., GCS Alumna
